How to Request your Professional Certificate 

Step 1: Submit your documentation

As soon as you complete your final required course, email copies of all course completion certificates to oshaed@asu.edu.

Step 2: Enroll and Pay

Visit our registration site to enroll in the Certificate Program and industry and pay the required processing fee.

Step 3: Verification and Delivery

Once we receive your application and fee, our team will review your records to confirm all requirements are met.

• Processing: Please allow 1 – 2 weeks for verification.

• Delivery: Your physical certificate will be mailed to the address on file.

Pro Tip for in person Students: If you are finishing your final course in person, please submit all prior documentation before

the course begins. Alert the office ahead of time, and we will work to have your certificate processed by the last day of class.

Important Policies

To ensure your courses qualify for the certificate, please note the following:

• Authorized Courses Only: Only OSHA-numbered courses completed at an official OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Center are eligible.

• Transfer Credits: While we accept courses from other OTI Education Centers, they must be submitted for review immediately to ensure they meet program standards.

• Course Requirement: A majority of your coursework must be completed through the Arizona State University OSHA Education Center. External certificates are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Do you work for a Town, County, City, or other public entity? This certificate is self-paced and can be earned in as little as 9 months. 

OSHA's Safety and Health Fundamentals Certificate program support's OSHA's mission by training public and private sector employees in occupational safety and health to reduce incident rates for workers. Participants have the opportunity to earn certificates for Construction, Maritime, and General Industry training.

Are there any experience requirements to fulfill in order to earn my Safety & Health Professional designation?

• NO - For the SSH and CSHO Certificates the applicants need only complete the required courses to apply for the certificate.  

• YES - Certificate programs offer concentrated study in areas directly applicable to many jobs and can add depth to existing knowledge and skills. Completion of a certificate program can help you advance in your existing career or make the transition to a new career.
